Recording and analyzing solution behavior

In a development or test environment with development or container servers, you can record the processing that occurs when a solution runs. A solution recording includes events and entities that are processed and emitted. After the recording is created, you use Insight Inspector to analyze the processed and emitted events, entity values, and any processing errors that occurred during recording. By analyzing this activity, you can determine whether the solution is producing the expected results.

Overview of Insight Inspector
Insight Inspector is a web application that helps you review and analyze solutions. You select a solution to record during a test run and then review and inspect the events and entities that are associated with each solution agent.
Recording solutions
Record solution processing by using the TestDriver API or RESTful commands to start a recording and to stop a recording.
Opening Insight Inspector
Enter the URL for Insight Inspector in your browser to open the Insight Inspector window.
Inspecting a solution timeline
Select a solution from a list of recorded solutions in Insight Inspector. Use the event timeline under each entity type to examine recorded events and entities more closely.
Analyzing the order of events
Events are represented by icons on a horizontal timeline. You can expand and collapse entity type sections to control the display of events and agents that processed the events.
Checking the event and entity data
Find out more about events and entities that are associated with the events by checking the information in the Data section.
Verifying rules as fired or not fired
The Rules section displays a list of rules that are fired as a result of processing the selected event. The rules are processed and evaluated during the recording. Use the Fired and Not Fired lists to verify that the correct rules are fired during event processing.
Verifying the scheduled processing of events
The scheduled processing of an event can change the entity, or emit events, at a specific date and time. Inspect the clock icons on the timeline to verify that the events are processed as, and when, you expect.
Finding the cause of errors and validating results
Use the Log section to check the log information for a selected event.
Uploading and downloading solution recordings
Upload a solution recording from a previously saved recording file so that you can verify the processed events and entities in Insight Inspector. To export a solution recording, download a recording archive file to your local system. You can share the recording file with other Insight Inspector users.
