Troubleshooting problems with the IBM Content Navigator web client

Troubleshoot problems and errors that occur when administering and using the IBM® Content Navigator web client.

Cannot connect to a Content Manager OnDemand server
You might see errors when you try to connect or log in to a Content Manager OnDemand server in the IBM Content Navigator administration tool and desktop. These errors can occur if ODWEK is not configured correctly.
Cannot view recently added content or system items in the web client
Some information is cached on your web browser. If certain items appear to be missing from the web client, click the Refresh button in the IBM Content Navigator interface or close your session and log in again.
Logging in to a repository as a different user in a session can result in a WebSphere Application Server error
When you access multiple repositories and use more than one user name in a session, the UnauthorizedSessionRequestException error can occur. This error occurs if the security integration option is enabled in the WebSphere® Application Server session management facility.
Cannot access pages in IBM Content Navigator
You might see an error when you access pages on IBM Content Navigator if some configurations, such as the database configuration, are still pending.
Resolving blank screens that occur when users log in to a desktop
When the database server is restarted, all of the IBM Content Navigator systems under the database server must be restarted from the web application server where IBM Content Navigator is deployed. When the IBM Content Navigator systems under the database server are not restarted, users might experience a blank screen when they log in to their desktops.
Document or folder is no longer available in the Favorites list
If you add a document or folder as a favorite and later change the item type that is associated with that document or folder, the favorite might not work.
Formatting is not applied when you enter text into a text area or text box
If you format text that you entered in a text area, such as a description for a role, the formatting is not applied.
URL or UNC attachments to a workflow or in Process Designer are missing in the Attachments tab
When you attach URL or UNC attachments to a workflow or in the process designer, those attachments might not be displayed in the Attachments tab in the launch step or step processor.
Cannot connect to the web server when you create teamspaces
In some environments, you encounter an out-of-memory error when you create a teamspace that has too many users.
Deleting a teamspace does not remove the contents and folders of the teamspace
When you delete a teamspace, only the teamspace container is being deleted. The teamspace is removed from the teamspace list, but the items within the teamspace remain in the repository.
Cannot modify the desktop ID or URL from IBM Content Navigator for Microsoft Office
When you log in to IBM Content Navigator for Microsoft Office, you cannot modify the desktop ID or IBM Content Navigator URL that are displayed in the Login window when you click More Options
Different user names that are displayed in IBM Content Navigator
System properties and the global toolbar, which displays the logged in user, can display various user name properties depending on your LDAP configuration and what is configured in the Content Platform Engine settings. Use this information to understand where and why you might find a short name (user ID), email alias, display name, User Principal Name (UPN), or the full distinguished name (full DN) in IBM Content Navigator.
Web client has slowed performance and other unusual issues
If IBM Content Navigator is suddenly not behaving the same as other web clients, you can clean up the client.
