Creating and submitting assets

You can create assets and submit them to the repository. Create a new asset when you want to submit an entirely new asset – not an improvement on or duplicate of an existing asset – for reuse across your organization or community.

About this task

You must first describe the asset, and then submit it to the repository. When you describe the asset, you add information such as the asset name, version, and short descriptions; more advanced attributes, such as custom tags or attributes; and even more advanced descriptors, such as, where the asset belongs in the repository category schemas or any assets that are in any way related to the asset.

    When submitting a new asset, you must provide descriptive information about the asset.

    You can attach files or URL links as artifacts to an asset. If you attach new artifacts to the asset and a review process is available, you must submit the asset into the review process to have the updated asset artifacts reviewed before the change can take effect.

    Categorize assets by using category schemas at both the repository and community levels.
  4. Adding related assets and defining asset relationships
    You can specify which assets are related to an asset that you are submitting. Then, you can define relationship types between related assets.
