Integrating and matching data with the high-level integration language

Your enterprise has access to large quantities of data, and today that can be a mix of structured and unstructured data. A successful enterprise hinges on understanding your data and ultimately, the customers that your data represents. Gaining that understanding can be achieved by using entity population and resolution that results in a 360-degree customer view, and the use of the high-level integration language (HIL) can help.

About this task

The high-level integration language is a scripting language that provides the core logic for complex data processing flows that aggregate facts from large collections of structured or unstructured data into clean, unified entities. Two types of rules are supported by the language: entity population (EP) rules and entity resolution (ER) rules. The Social MDM Matching application uses integration language flows and rules to drive entity extraction and resolution.

Use the information in the following topics to learn more about integrating and matching entities with the language. The following topics focus primarily on ER rules. For general information about using the language, see the High-level integration language reference topics.

The topics assume that you have experience with Jaql, Java™, and common UNIX shell scripts.
