In the configurable service for a MedicalDeviceInput node, use the IBM® Integration
Toolkit to edit a device connection
to change the connection parameters or measurement set for a device.
Filter the device connection list to select the device connection
to edit.
You can edit existing device connections. You can filter
the list of device connections to help you select the correct device
connection.
To edit a device connection:
- Optional: To filter the list of device connections,
in the Medical Device Configurable Service editor, in the Filter field
of the Device Connections area, enter the text
that you want to search for. Your filter text is searched
for in all the fields of the device connections, except the Measurement
Set field. The filter text is case-sensitive. The list of device connections is filtered as you type.
- In the Device Connections table,
select the device connection that you want to edit. Click the Edit icon. The Edit Device Connection window
opens.
- In the Device Type field, select
the type of the device.
- In the Device ID field, enter an
identifier for the device. Ensure that each device you
use has a unique device ID.
- In the Connection Configuration area,
enter the connection parameters for your device:
- If your device is connected by a serial port, select Serial and
enter the parameters for port, baud rate, parity, data, stop bit,
and flow control.
Note: On
Windows, enter only the number
of the port. For example, if you are using COM1, enter
1 in
the port field.
- If your device is connected by LAN, select LAN and
enter the parameters for host and port.
- In the Measurement Set field, select
a measurement set for the device. To add a new measurement set, click New and
see Adding a measurement set. The
measurement set specifies the measurements that the device collects.
- In the Location field, enter the
location of the device.
- In the Patient ID field, enter identification
information about the patient that is using the device.
- In the Notes field, enter any notes required
for the device.
- In the Tags field, enter any tags
for the device.
- Click OK. The Edit
Device Connection window closes.
- To save your changes, click the Save icon
in the upper right of the Medical Device Configurable Service editor.
