Configuring a MedicalDeviceInput node

After you have added a MedicalDeviceInput node to a message flow, configure it. You configure a MedicalDeviceInput node by selecting the configurable service that your node uses. The configurable service contains the configuration information for the devices that send medical data to the node.

• To configure your MedicalDeviceInput node by creating a new configurable service:
  1. In the Message Flow editor, right-click the MedicalDeviceInput node you want to configure and select Properties.
  2. In the Properties view, click Basic.
  3. Click New. The Create a New Configurable Service window opens.
  4. Enter a name for the configurable service and click OK. The Medical Device Configurable Service editor opens.
  5. Optional: Edit the configurable service; see Editing the configurable service for a MedicalDeviceInput node by using the IBM Integration Toolkit.
  6. If you did not close the Medical Device Configurable Service editor after editing the configurable service, close the Medical Device Configurable Service editor by clicking Close on the Medical Device Configurable Service editor tab.
• To configure your MedicalDeviceInput node by selecting an existing configurable service that is in the same workspace as the message flow that contains your MedicalDeviceInput node:
  1. In the Message Flow editor, right-click the MedicalDeviceInput node you want to configure and select Properties.
  2. In the Properties view, click Basic.
  3. Click Select. The Select Configurable Service window opens.
  4. Select the required configurable service in the Matching resources section. You can filter the list of configurable services by entering filter text in the Select a resource to open field. If a configurable service with the same name is contained in more than one folder, select the required folder in the In folder section.
  5. Click OK. The Select Configurable Service window closes and the new configurable service name is shown in the Configurable service name field.
• To configure your MedicalDeviceInput node by importing an existing configurable service from a file that is outside your workspace:
  1. In the Message Flow editor, right-click the MedicalDeviceInput node you want to configure and select Properties.
  2. In the Properties view, click Basic.
  3. Click Import. The Import a Configurable Service File window opens.
  4. Select the required configurable service file and click Open. The Import a Configurable Service File window closes and the new configurable service name is shown in the Configurable service name field.
