Running the WebSphere ESB conversion tool

Start the WebSphere® ESB conversion tool, then create and configure a WebSphere ESB conversion session to convert WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus resources into IBM® Integration Bus resources.

Before you begin

Procedure

Complete the following tasks:

  1. Start the WebSphere ESB conversion tool by using one of the following methods:
    • In the Application Development view, click WebSphere ESB projects, then right-click the WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus project that you want to convert. Select the option Convert to Integration Bus resources.
    • When you import WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus resources into the IBM Integration Toolkit, select the option Launch WebSphere ESB conversion after import. For more information, see Importing WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus resources.
  2. Create a WebSphere ESB conversion session. For more information, see Creating a WebSphere ESB conversion session.
  3. Select the WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus projects that you want to convert. For more information, see Selecting WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus projects for conversion.
  4. Configure the WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus resources for conversion.
  5. Configure your WebSphere ESB conversion session global properties.
  6. On the Convert WebSphere ESB resources window, click Start conversion to convert your resources.
    If you have problems running the WebSphere ESB conversion tool, check the conversion.log file for errors. The WebSphere ESB conversion log file is stored in the .metadata file in the workspace directory. The default location for the workspace directory depends on your operating system:
    • Linux®: user_home_dir/IBM/IIBT10/workspace/.metadata/
    • Windows: C:\Users\user_ID\IBM\IIBT10\workspace\.metadata\
