Importing WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus resources

Import your WebSphere® Enterprise Service Bus resources to the IBM® Integration Bus.

Before you begin

  1. Get familiar with the IBM Integration Toolkit. For more information, see IBM Integration Toolkit.
  2. Before you import WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus projects into the IBM Integration Bus workspace, export a project interchange (PI) file that contains all the WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus resources that you plan to convert by using the WebSphere ESB conversion tool. For more information, see Exporting WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus projects for conversion.

Procedure

To import WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus projects into the IBM Integration Bus workspace, complete the following steps:

  1. Start the IBM Integration Toolkit.
  2. Open the WebSphere ESB Import wizard by using one of the following methods:
    • Click File > Import. Expand IBM Integration. Select WebSphere ESB Project Interchange. Click Next.
    • In the Application Development view, right-click the white space, then click Import. Expand IBM Integration. Select WebSphere ESB Project Interchange. Click Next.
    • In the WebSphere ESB conversion tool, click 1. Select WebSphere ESB projects > Import WebSphere ESB source projects for conversion into your workspace.
  3. Select a WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus PI file to import.
  4. Optional: Select Launch WebSphere ESB conversion tool after import if you want to start the WebSphere ESB conversion tool as part of the import process.
  5. Click Finish.
  6. Optional: If a Workspace Migration wizard starts, click Cancel. For more information, see Avoiding the launch of the Workspace Migration wizard.

Results

Imported WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus projects are grouped under the new category WebSphere ESB Projects in the Application Development view.
