Configuration commands (wsadmin)
If you did not create a stand-alone profile or run one of the configuration wizards to configure the components, you can configure IBM® Business Monitor using the WebSphere command-line administration tool (wsadmin). You can use the Jython or Jacl scripting language.
In a single-server environment, these commands are run for you when you create the stand-alone profile. For a network deployment (ND) environment, these commands are run when you create a deployment environment or run the configuration wizard to configure the required IBM Business Monitor components.
To configure IBM Business Monitor, each
of the following commands is used:
- wbmDeployCEIEventService to create and configure the CEI event service and its required resources for receiving and sending events
- wbmConfigureEventEmitterFactory to configure the outbound event emitter factory for sending events
- wbmDeployMessagingEngine to install and configure the messaging engine and service integration bus
- wbmDeployActionServices to install and configure the action services for invoking actions
- wbmDeployScheduledServices to install and configure the Monitor scheduled services for scheduling recurring services
- wbmDeployEventEmitterServices to install and configure the JMS and REST event emitter services
- wbmDeployBPMEmitterServices to install and configure the BPM emitter service for use by IBM BPM
- wbmDeployCognosService to install the IBM Cognos® Business Intelligence service for multidimensional analysis, or wbmSetCognosDispatcher to point to an IBM Cognos BI service that is already installed
- wbmSetCognosDatabaseUser to set the IBM Cognos BI content store database password, and wbmSetCognosAdminUser to set the IBM Cognos BI administrator password.
If you run one of these commands, you must save the changes before exiting wsadmin and then synchronize the nodes (in an ND environment). - monConfig script
You can use the monConfig.sh or monConfig.bat script to create a deployment environment. - IBM Business Monitor CEI event service (Deprecated)
Use the wbmDeployCEIEventService command to install a CEI event service on a server or cluster and create the resources it requires (the service integration bus and messaging engine). In the four-cluster topology, the CEI event service is installed on the support cluster. - IBM Business Monitor event emitter factory
IBM Business Monitor requires an event emitter factory to generate and send events. Use the wbmConfigureEventEmitterFactory command to install and configure the event emitter factory on a server or cluster. You must already have a common event infrastructure (CEI event service). (Otherwise, run the wbmDeployCEIEventService command to create one.) In the four-cluster topology, the event emitter factory is installed on the support cluster. - IBM Business Monitor messaging engine
IBM Business Monitor requires its own service integration bus and messaging engine, even if you plan to use table-based event delivery. Use the wbmDeployMessagingEngine command to install and configure the bus and messaging engine. You must already have a common event infrastructure (CEI event service). (Otherwise, run the wbmDeployCEIEventService command to create one.) In the four-cluster topology, the messaging engine is installed on the messaging engine cluster. - IBM Business Monitor action services
IBM Business Monitor requires action services to invokes actions, such as sending dashboard alerts or email notifications, when it receives defined situation events. Use the wbmDeployActionServices command to install the action services application. You must already have installed the IBM Business Monitor messaging engine and outbound event emitter factory before you can install the action services application. In the four-cluster topology, the action services application is installed on the support cluster. - IBM Business Monitor scheduled services
IBM Business Monitor requires Monitor scheduled services to schedule recurring services, such as the data movement service and the key performance indicator (KPI) history for monitor models. Use the wbmDeployScheduledServices command to install the Monitor scheduled services application to a server or cluster. In the four-cluster topology, the Monitor scheduled services application is installed on the support cluster. - Event emitter services
You can use the wbmDeployEventEmitterServices command to install the Java Messaging Service (JMS) and Representational State Transfer (REST) API service applications (.ear files) to a server or cluster. The event emitters receive the events from your applications and deliver the events to IBM Business Monitor. - BPM emitter service
You can use the wbmDeployBPMEmitterService command to install the BPM emitter service application (.ear files) for IBM Business Process Manager to a server or cluster. Rather than generating Common Base Events directly, IBM BPM generates XML events which are then submitted to the BPM emitter service. The BPM emitter service receives the event XML and wraps it in a Common Base Event so that IBM Business Monitor can process it. - Event source management commands
You can configure monitor model event sources to receive events from business activities using the event source management (BusinessMonitorEventSourceManagement) commands. Use the commands to view, register, unregister, and update event sources in both CEI (deprecated) and Dynamic Event Framework environments. - IBM Cognos BI service
You can use the wbmDeployCognosService command to install a new IBM Cognos Business Intelligence service to a server or cluster. IBM Business Monitor uses IBM Cognos BI to conduct multidimensional data analysis from your dashboards. In the four-cluster topology, IBM Cognos BI is deployed to the support cluster. - Commands (wsadmin scripting) for configuring the Business Space component for dashboards
Look up a scripting object or command class to find details about its command syntax. - IBM Business Monitor dashboards for mobile devices
You can use the wbmDeployDashboardsForMobileDevices command to install the dashboards for mobile devices to a server or cluster. If you want to run IBM Business Monitor on mobile devices, you must install this application. In the four-cluster topology, this application is installed on the web cluster. - Table-based bus configuration across multiple cells
To enable IBM Business Monitor to bypass the JMS queue and use the table-based method to receive events from a remote event service, you must create a data source in the remote cell. As part of the instructions in "Configuring IBM Business Monitor to receive events from IBM Business Process Manager V8.5.0 and earlier," run the wbmConfigureQueueBypassDatasource command on the remote deployment manager to create the data source. - Context roots
You can configure the context root of your IBM Business Monitor applications and widgets to add a unique prefix.
