Maximo Archiving with InfoSphere Optim Data Growth Solution, Version 7.6

Archiving data

Archiving data is a multiple-step process in which you edit the access definitions to include site-specific information. You then import the information into InfoSphere® Optim™ Data Growth Solution, when you create an archive request.

  1. Editing the access definitions files
    The access definitions contain placeholder strings that represent the owner names and aliases of the production and reporting databases. The placeholder strings must be replaced with the aliases and owner names of your databases before you can archive or restore data.
  2. Importing the templates
    The edited templates must be imported into the InfoSphere Optim Data Growth Solution directory before you can archive or restore data.
  3. Using an archive request to archive data
    The InfoSphere Optim Data Growth Solution interface is used to initially create archive requests and to purge data from the production database. When you are confident that the archive files define the objects and relationships that you want to archive, use the InfoSphere Optim Data Growth Solution command-line interface to script the operation.
