Reserving release environments

You can reserve environments for different phases of your release.

About this task

When you plan your release, you reserve environments for each release phase. By reserving environments for each release phase, you ensure that the environments are available when they are required and avoid scheduling conflicts.

Procedure

  1. Click Releases & Deployments, and then click the name of your release.
  2. In the Release Pipeline section, in the same row as your phase, click the New Environment Reservation icon .
  3. Click the Start Date list, and select a start date from the calendar. Mouse over a date in the calendar to display the events that are scheduled for that day in all environments, as shown in the following figure:
The calendar and the event details for the indicated date are displayed
  4. Click the End Date list, and select an end date from the calendar.
  5. Optional: To view only the environments that are not reserved for another application's release during your selected dates, select the Show only Environments without conflicts check box. If you do not select this check box, all the environments on your server are listed. If an environment is scheduled to be used in another release during your reservation time, an indicator is displayed, as shown in the following figure:
The calendar and the event details for the indicated date are displayed
  6. In the same rows as the environments to reserve, select the check boxes. If you have many environments on your server, you can filter the displayed environments, descriptions, and application environments to help locate your environment.
  7. Click Save. The reservation is displayed in the Environment Reservation window of the phase.
  8. Repeat this process to reserve environments for the remaining release phases.
