Fix pack release contents

Jazz for Service Management Version 1.1.2.1 contains the following packages:

You can download Jazz for Service Management Version 1.1.2.1 from IBM Fix Central.

Download and extract 1.1.2-TIV-JazzSM-multi-FP001.zip if you want to update the following Jazz for Service Management integration services:

  • Administration Services 1.1 or a later fix pack
  • Administration Services UI 1.1 or a later fix pack
  • Dashboard Application Services Hub 3.1 or a later fix pack
  • Registry Services 1.1 or a later fix pack
  • Security Services 1.1 or a later fix pack
  • Reporting Services 1.1 or a later fix pack - For more information. see http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21965279

To download and extract the release content, complete the following steps:

  1. On each machine on which Jazz for Service Management integration services are installed, create a temporary directory for the download files, referred to as the JazzSM_FP_Home directory.

    Restriction: Ensure that the path to this directory does not contain any spaces, ASCII, or special characters.

  2. Download the compressed files for your platform from IBM Fix Central as follows:
    1. Open your web browser. Ensure that you sign into IBM.com or IBM Support Portal; enter the following URL:

      (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/)

      In the Find product tab, follow the online instructions to use the filtered drop-down lists and display the current version of Jazz for Service Management for your platform.

    2. In the Product selector field, start typing Jazz for Service Management; then select Jazz for Service Management from the returned result list.
    3. Verify that the version that you want to download is displayed in the Installed Version list. If it is not, select the correct version from the list.
    4. From the Platform list, select the platform on which you want to install the fix pack.
    5. Click Continue. The Identify Fixes page opens.
    6. Use the default option, Browse for fixes; click Continue.
    7. On the Select fixes page, select the following ID:
      • 1.1.2-TIV-JazzSM-multi-FP001

      Click Continue.

      Note: If you have not yet signed into IBM.com, you are now prompted to sign in or register.

    8. On the Download option page, select one of the following download options; click Continue.
      • Download using Download Director
      • Download using your browser
    9. Review the terms and conditions, and click I agree.
    10. Follow the online instructions for your chosen download option, and download the packages.
  3. If required, extract the contents of the compressed files to the temporary directory.

    Note: On Windows systems, the extraction process can create the 1.1.2-TIV-JazzSM-multi-FP001 directory. On UNIX systems, specify the directory during the extraction process.

Jazz for Service Management Version 1.1.2.1 is a full refresh of Jazz for Service Management Version 1.1 Base with Modification 2, Fix Pack 1. If you do not have the Jazz for Service Management DVDs, you can download electronic images for the full refresh of the offering from IBM Passport Advantage®. Prerequisites and co-requisites

Ensure that your existing environment meets current Jazz for Service Management requirements. See Detailed system requirements.

Important:To manage the content store, Tivoli Common Reporting requires WebSphere Applications Server, Jazz for Service Management extension, and DB2.

Impact Assessment

This fix pack release of Jazz for Service Management provides critical fixes to resolve APARs and new features.

You should update all installed integration services in the same application server profile to the same release level.

The summary of changes in this release are as follows:

  • Dashboard Application Services Hub added fixes and introduced the following features:
    • Console Analytics feature provides metrics for assessing console activity. To view Console Analytics data, log in to the console and select Settings > Console Analytics, for more information, see Console Analytics consolecli commands.
    • The Time Selector widget is used to set a time or time range, after which subscribing widgets are updated, for more information, see " target="_blank" title="(Opens in a new tab or window)">Time Selector widget.
    • An optional DashTools debugging package is available for the console, for more information, see, DashTools package overview.
  • Administration Services and Security Services added fixes only.
  • Tivoli Common Reporting was not updated.
Installation instructions

    Before installation

    On each machine on which the integration services are installed, check that your environment meets the current requirements by running IBM Prerequisite Scanner. Specify the update parameter when you run the relevant Prerequisite Scanner convenience script. See Running Prerequisite Scanner by running the convenience scripts.

    Before you update Jazz for Service Management, refer to the technotes for Jazz for Service Management. The technotes provide information about late-breaking issues, limitations, and workarounds.     Important: Tivoli Common Reporting 3.1.2.1 supports rolling back and upgrading, but if a rollback fails in its early stages, then you need to manually roll it back, for more information, see Restoring Cognos if Tivoli Common Reporting update fails on multiple platforms.

    Note: 9.5 GB of free disk space is required for an upgrade installation.

    Note: Existing customers must update Installation Manager to Version 1.8.1 or later, before updating Jazz for Service Management.

    Note: You must use WebSphere Application Server Version 8.5.5.4 and not WebSphere Application Server Version 8.5.5.9 with Jazz for Service Management Version 1.1.2.1.

    Upgrade installation

    Jazz for Service Management Version 1.1.2.1 can be installed on top of earlier Jazz for Service Management releases (1.1, 1.1.0.1, 1.1.0.2, 1.1.0.3, 1.1.1.0, 1.1.2.0).

    Use IBM Installation Manager in GUI or silent modes to first update the Jazz for Service Management extension for IBM WebSphere and then install Jazz for Service Management Version 1.1.2.1 for the following installed integration services:

    • Administration Services
    • Administration Services UI
    • IBM Dashboard Application Services Hub
    • Registry Services
    • Security Services
    • Tivoli Common Reporting

    You should update the installed integration services in the same application server profile to the same release level.

    When upgrading Tivoli Common Reporting, you must download 3.1.2.1-TIV-JazzSM-TCR-COGNOS-platform.tar.gz|.zip (platform-specific IBM Cognos® Business Intelligence Reporting for Tivoli Common Reporting Version 3.1.2.1) from Passport Advantage.

    1. On each machine that has an Jazz for Service Management application server, update the Jazz for Service Management extension for IBM WebSphere.
    2. On each machine that has an installed integration service, update the integration service to the current release level.
    3. Customers using IBM Tivoli Directory Integrator must independently download and install Tivoli Directory Integrator Version 7.1.1.2 Fix Pack 4 from IBM Fix Central

    Fresh installation

    Note: 20 GB of free disk space is required for a fresh installation.

    1. Download and extract 1.1.2-TIV-JazzSM-multi-FP001.zip to a local directory, for example, JazzSM_FP_Home.

    2. Add the JazzSM_FP_Home/1.1.2-TIV-JazzSM-multi-FP001/JazzSMFPRepository/disk1/diskTag.inf file along with the repository locations for any other earlier Jazz for Service Management versions to Installation Manager -> File -> Preferences -> Add Repository.

    3. Follow the installation instructions relevant to the specified Jazz for Service Management version. For more information, see Performing a full installation

    4. When the installation completes, ensure that all installed components reflect Jazz for Service Management Version 1.1.2.1.

    5. Customers using IBM Tivoli Directory Integrator must independently download and install Tivoli Directory Integrator Version 7.1.1.2 Fix Pack 4 from IBM Fix Central

    Uninstalling or rolling back the release

    You can roll back the modification release for the following integration services:

    • Administration Services
    • Administration Services UI
    • IBM Dashboard Application Services Hub
    • Registry Services
    • Security Services

    Use the Rollback function of Installation Manager to remove the modification and return your environment to its state before the update. You can also roll back to the previous version of the Jazz for Service Management extension for IBM WebSphere.

    Attention: You cannot roll back Tivoli Common Reporting Version 3.1.2.1 as it supports only fresh installation. You can only perform a full uninstallation of Tivoli Common Reporting.

    1. Use IBM Installation Manager in GUI or silent modes to uninstall Jazz for Service Management Version 1.1.2.1.

      Important: When you revert to the previous version of Jazz for Service Management, Installation Manager does not automatically account for interim fixes. You must manually install interim fixes after you roll back.

    2. Use IBM Installation Manager in GUI or silent modes to uninstall the current version of the Jazz for Service Management extension for IBM WebSphere.
