Setting up the PC
After IBM® i Access for Windows is installed and configured on IBM i, you need to install and configure IBM i Access for Windows on your PC.
Note: Only users with administrator authority can perform
installations, service pack updates, and upgrades to new releases.
You can use the Windows Scheduled tasks feature with
remote access to allow your users to do installations, service
pack updates, and upgrades without administrator privileges. Alternatively,
you can set the AlwaysInstallElevated policy. The AlwaysInstallElevated
policy is one of the Windows Installer
policies that you can use to control the Windows Installer behavior on client computers.
