Installing other language versions

From the client installation wizard, you can select any national language version (NLV) that is available as your primary language on the PC. You can also install multiple secondary languages on the PC.

Start of changeSecondary languages are language options that are installed in addition to the primary language. The active language is the language currently selected for display by IBM® i Access for Windows user interfaces. By default, the primary language chosen at install is the active language. The active language can be changed to any of the installed languages from the Language tab of the IBM i Access for Windows Properties page.End of change

If you are installing from the IBM i Access for Windows licensed program, you can install multiple secondary languages on the IBM i operating system, and then during the installation on the PC, you can choose which language you want as your primary language and, optionally, choose multiple secondary languages. If you are installing from the IBM i Access for Windows DVD, all languages are available, and you can choose which language you want as your primary language and, optionally, choose multiple secondary languages.

Start of changeSecondary languages can be installed by using the custom setup wizard or by using the public property CWBADDSECLANG. Secondary languages are not installed with either the Complete or PC5250 User setup types. Secondary languages can be added to an existing installation by using the Modify operation.End of change
