Preparing an installation image to install on multiple PCs

You can tailor the installation image to control how IBM® i Access for Windows is installed and what gets installed on the users' PCs.

You have several ways to provide the installation image. Follow the links for instructions about deploying an installation image using one of the listed methods of deployment.

Deploy from NetServer
Note: Deploy the installation image from NetServer if you follow either of the listed processes.

You want users to run setup.exe with predefined parameters.

You intend to apply different transforms to different users depending on some organizational criteria.

Use batch programs
Use a different deployment tool. Other deployment methods: Several deployment systems developed by third-party vendors are available.

If you are using one of these systems, refer to the documentation provided by your independent software vendor.

You might want to create an administrative installation image for any of the deployment methods. An administration installation image lets you apply Windows Installer patches rather than the full image service pack.
