>>-jobname--+-JOB IS HELD--------+--NULL DATASET FOUND---------->
            '-OUTGROUPS ARE HELD-'

>--dsname--ddname--outgrp--ON--devname--IS A NULL DATASET------><

The SYSOUT transmitter has recognized a null data set being transmitted. In the message text:
jobname
The name of the job.
dsname
The name of the data set.
ddname
The ddname of the data set.
outgrp
The output group of the data set.
devname
The name of the device.
Note: A jobid might precede message $HASP519; see JES2 message format.

System action

The SYSOUT transmitter stops transmitting data sets for its current job and issues an RTAM "close" to cause the SYSOUT receiver to delete any output it has already received (that is, purge the received job). The transmitter will hold the job or the JOES it has acquired.

JOB IS HELD appears in the message for SPOOL OFFLOAD.

OUTGROUPS ARE HELD appears in the message for SNA NJE, BSC NJE or TCP/IP NJE networks.

Operator response

Determine if the data set is a null data set. Purge the null data set before releasing the job or outgroup for retransmission. If OUTGROUPS ARE HELD appears in the message, the held data sets can be displayed using the $L command and the data set can be made selectable for retransmission using the $T command.

System programmer response

None.
