Explanation

>>-ROUTE CODE NUMBER--n--ON - device --NOT VALID---------------><

JES2 initialization processing has determined that a route code on the specified device is not valid for that device type. n in the message indicates which route code (1-4) is in error. The problem may be caused by:
  • A local or remote printer or punch with a route code that resolves to a non-local destination
  • A local route code with an incorrect user routing.

System action

The route code in error is deleted from the list of route codes. Initialization continues until all local or all remote devices have been processed, at which point the $HASP441 message is issued. The operator has the option of terminating JES2 initialization. If initialization is allowed to complete, the route code in error can be corrected through an operator command.

Operator response

Reply as directed by the $HASP441 message.

System programmer response

Correct the route code specification in the initialization stream for the device specified in the message.
