IBM InfoSphere Information Server
Troubleshooting
These topics describe how to resolve problems that you might encounter when you use the CDC Transaction stage in an InfoSphere® DataStage® job.
- Value of DM_TIMESTAMP column in the target table is incorrect
When the CDC Transaction stage inserts a timestamp into the DM_TIMESTAMP column of the target table, the value of the column might not be consistent with the expected value. The value is converted to UTC time zone before it is passed to the CDC Transaction stage. - Job fails to start automatically
After starting a subscription in the InfoSphere CDC Management Console, the job fails to start automatically if auto-start is not correctly configured. - Job fails while processing large records
While running an InfoSphere DataStage job, the job fails if a record is larger than the size that is specified for a transport block in the InfoSphere DataStage parallel engine. - Job fails with authentication failure message
While running an InfoSphere DataStage job, the job fails if the CDC Transaction stage cannot authenticate with the InfoSphere CDC for InfoSphere DataStage server. - Job fails with bookmark table missing message
While running an InfoSphere DataStage job, the job fails if the InfoSphere CDC for InfoSphere DataStage server cannot write bookmark information to the bookmark table. - Job fails with connection error message
While running an InfoSphere DataStage job, the job fails if the CDC Transaction stage is unable to connect to the InfoSphere CDC for InfoSphere DataStage server. - Job fails with multiple bookmark links or no bookmark link error message
While running an InfoSphere DataStage job, the job fails if the CDC Transaction stage finds multiple bookmark links or no bookmark link. - Job fails with table name for subscription not specified on link error message
While running an InfoSphere DataStage job, the job fails if the CDC Transaction stage cannot find the link that is required to transfer the data for a source table. - Job fails with no response from server error message
While running an InfoSphere DataStage job, the job fails if the CDC Transaction stage does not receive a response from the InfoSphere CDC for InfoSphere DataStage server. - Job fails with ODBC access failure message
While running an InfoSphere DataStage job, the job fails if the CDC Transaction stage cannot use ODBC to access the target database. - Output data is truncated
The data that is output from InfoSphere CDC is truncated before it is written to the CDC Transaction stage. - Subscription stops while still in "Starting" state
After starting a subscription in the InfoSphere CDC Management Console, the state does not progress as expected if the CDC Transaction stage fails to get a connection to the InfoSphere CDC for InfoSphere DataStage server.
