Task 5: Creating a rule project that references your BOM project

You learn how to create a rule project and set it to reference the BOM project created earlier in this tutorial.

About this task

In this task, you create a new rule project and set it up to reference the BOM project you created. You create this project so that you can publish scorecard technical rules to Decision Center.

Procedure

To create a new rule project that references the shared BOM project:

  1. In Rule Designer, click File > New > Rule Project.

The New Rule Project wizard opens.

  2. On the Select a template page, click Rule Project with a BOM, and then click Next.
  3. On the Rule project page, in the Project name field, type scorecardpublish_tutorial, and then click Next.
  4. On both Rule Project XOM Settings pages, click Next.
  5. On the Rule Project References page, select the scasharedBOM_tutorial check box, and then click Finish.
  6. In the Rule Explorer view, click the scorecardpublish_tutorial project rules folder, and then create a rule package named rulePackage.RiskScorecard.

Results

You now have a rule project named scorecardpublish_tutorial in Rule Designer, and the new project references the scasharedBOM_tutorial project. A rule package is automatically created for this rule project.

In the next task, you create a scorecard and export it to the rule project.
