Installing on distributed platforms

You can install Operational Decision Manager using the launchpad or the Installation Manager. You can also install in silent mode if you plan to install the products on several machines.

Configurations and application server topologies
Before installing Operational Decision Manager, it is important to consider how you want to use Decision Center and Decision Server, and whether you plan to configure them on an existing production server.
Installation prerequisites
Before installing Operational Decision Manager, make sure that you have the required environments and software and that you have sufficient disk space. You need approximately three times the size of the launchpad to install Operational Decision Manager.
Installing from the product launchpad
The product launchpad installs the Operational Decision Manager packages along with the prerequisite software.
Installing using Installation Manager
In Installation Manager you can choose the packages and products of Operational Decision Manager that you want to install. You must have a license for the products you intend to install.
Installing in silent mode
In some cases, Operational Decision Manager has to be installed within a specific configuration on multiple machines. The GUI installer makes the installation simple to perform on a single machine, but difficult and cumbersome to repeat on multiple machines. You can install Operational Decision Manager product packages by running Installation Manager in silent installation mode to automate the process, and deploy the products to multiple systems.

Installing Rule Solutions for Office
After completing the installation of Decision Center using the launchpad or Installation Manager, you can then manually run the installer for Rule Solutions for Office.

You can find out what products of Operational Decision Manager you have installed through the launchpad and Installation Manager, by looking at the installation directory.
Setting up your environment to automate processes
You must ensure that you have the correct version of Ant and that it is configured correctly.
