Mail file delegation

Using delegation, users can allow others to manage their mail, calendar, contacts, and to do items.

IBM SmartCloud® Notes® users can manage the mail files of on-premises users. To provide this capability for web client users, you must configure an on-premises hub server and the on-premises mail servers to run HTTP and to resolve external links. Complete this configuration before you provision users. For more information, see the topic Specifying an on-premises server to resolve external Notes links.

To delegate access to a wildcard card group such as */Austin/Renovations, add the wildcard group directly to the delegate access list. Do not put the wildcard card group in a directory group and then add the directory group to the access list; this configuration isn't supported.

Reassigning delegation after a user name change

If a delegate’s Notes user name changes, then the owner of the mail file must reassign delegation to the new name. Doing so updates the mail file ACL (access control list) with the new name, which allows the user access to the database.
