Creating an IBM Integration Bus integration service from an IBM Business Process Manager export file

Use this process to complete Business Process Manager (BPM) integration services by implementing them in IBM® Integration Bus.

Before you start:

Receive an export .twx file with defined BPM integration services that are to be implemented in IBM Integration Bus, see Creating an IBM Business Process Manager toolkit.

Use this task to integrate an export .twx file with IBM Integration Bus services. The export .twx file contains BPM integration service specifications that are received from a BPM developer.
  1. Create an IBM Integration Bus integration service by using the BPM export .twx file. See Creating an integration service from a Business Process Manager integration service
  2. Implement the new operation in the IBM Integration Bus service. Deploy and test the IBM Integration Bus service. For more information about implementing operations, see Implementing a service operation. For more information about deployment, see Packaging and deploying.
  3. Exporting the service information by completing the following steps.
    1. Right-click the Service Description of the generated service.
    2. Select Export Service → IBM Business Process Manager.
    3. Select either the integration server or the deployed service from the list.
    4. Set the IBM Integration Bus host name and listener port in the Export Service → IBM Business Process Manager wizard. These values can be typed in manually, if you prefer. The service URL field indicates the address where the IBM Integration Bus is deployed.
    5. Click Next
    6. Ensure that the original export .twx file details (that is, file location and toolkit name) are correct for the service that you are exporting. Enter a Snapshot name that is different from the original snapshot name. The location of the original export .twx file is the default location where the new export .twx file is to be created. If a different location is required, you can click Browse to set the location for the new export file.
    7. Click Finish.
  4. Give the export .twx file back to the BPM developer.

Next:

The BPM developer imports the export .twx file into IBM Process Designer and completes the integration with the BPM integration service; see Completing integration of IBM Integration Bus services with Business Process Manager Integration services.
