Regions view
The Regions view displays all the CICS® regions for the current collector ID that the CICS IA Collector found. You can filter this data to refine the information displayed.
Information about a selected region is displayed in the Properties view (to open the Properties view, click ).
Toolbar
You can use the text field in the toolbar to filter the regions in the list. You can use an asterisk (*) as a wildcard. To apply the filter set in the text field, press Enter. In the example screen capture, the filter IYDZ* is used and all regions with names that start with IYDZ are displayed.
- Previous search icon . Show or select any previous filter values.
- Refresh collector status icon . Update the status of the regions. When you click the button, requests are sent to the collector connections that are currently active, and the indicators on the regions that are defined in the corresponding collector connections are updated.
Menu
Use the pop-up menu in the Regions view to display more information about the selected region. Right-click the region that you want to explore and choose an option from the menu.
- Show Resources. Display the resources for the selected region in the Show Resources view.
- Show Maps. Display the MAP resource types for the selected region in the Show Resources view.
- Show Files. Display the FILE resource types for the selected region in the Show Resources view.
- Show Temporary Storage. Display the TSQUEUE resource types for the selected region in the Show Resources view.
- Show Transient Data. Display the TDQUEUE resource types for the selected region in the Show Resources view.
- Report Explorer view. . Create an affinity report for the regions you require and display the report in the
- Report view. . Create a report of threadsafe issues for the programs in the selected region and display them in the
- Visualization. Display the programs and transactions in the selected region as groups in the Resource Visualization view.
- Show Affinities by Type. Select an affinity group type from the submenu to display the resources for the selected region that have potential affinities in the Affinities view.
- Transactions Used. Display the transactions used in the selected region in the Transactions view.
- Programs Used. Display the programs used in the selected region in the Programs view.
- Web Services Used. Display the web services used in the selected region in the Web Services view.
- Collector. When the CICS IA Collector service is available for the selected region, use the options in the submenu to start, stop, pause, or continue the Collector service. The region icon is updated to show the current state. For example, if you select Start, the circle on the region icon changes to green.
Collector state
- Green: The state of the collector in the region is RUNNING.
- Yellow: The state of the collector in the region is PAUSED.
- Red: The state of the collector in the region is STOPPED.
- Gray: The state of the collector in the region cannot be determined. For example, the collector connection is unavailable, or the collector connection is active but there is no such region defined.
