If
you are upgrading FileNet® P8 from
version 4.5.1, stop all Content Engine-related
services and applications and do a backup before doing the upgrade.
Before you begin
Locate and navigate to the
IBM®
FileNet P8 Version 4.5.1 documentation.
Reference the back up and restore topics for information about all
databases and configuration files that should be backed up before
upgrading.
Restriction: If
you are running IBM Legacy Content Search
Engine and
you want your system to retain the ability to do content-based searches,
you cannot upgrade directly from version 4.5.1. You must first upgrade FileNet P8 to version 5.1 and complete
the migration from IBM Legacy Content Search
Engine to IBM Content Search Services. You can then upgrade FileNet P8 from version 5.1.
