Monitoring from dashboard spaces
Using the IBM® Business Monitor widgets from dashboard spaces, you can view business performance data in a variety of graphical formats.
You can develop widgets and add them to a page in your dashboard
space, or you can have dashboards automatically generated when you
deploy a monitor model. When you automatically generate dashboards,
the following widgets are available as soon as you open the space:
- Instances
- Diagrams
- KPIs
- Alerts
- Report Viewer
- Dashboard accessibility
The IBM Business Monitor widgets and dashboard spaces are accessible to users either directly, or in combination with assistive technology products. In general, you can use standard Microsoft Windows navigation keys. - Opening dashboard spaces
Most users can open dashboard spaces using a web browser. If you are a programmer-level user, you can also open spaces using IBM Integration Designer. - View mode and edit mode
When working with dashboards, you will be using view mode or edit mode. - Business Monitor widgets
There are a number of widgets that are included in IBM Business Monitor. - Using the Business Monitoring template
IBM Business Monitor provides a template that you can customize to quickly view business performance data in a variety of formats. The option to use a template is available when you are creating a new space. - Widget wiring
Widgets communicate with each other using wires. A wire is a link between a source widget and a target widget. - URL addressability
You can prepare a specific page with Business Monitor widgets and then either obtain a URL that is specific to the page to share with others, or construct a URL that is specific to the page to integrate your own user interface with this specific page. - Fine-grained security
Fine-grained security can affect what users see when viewing information from the IBM Business Monitor widgets in a dashboard space. Fine-grained security can be implemented at the monitor context instance level (to filter instances from users) or the monitor context object level (to hide objects from users). - Ad hoc tasks
Certain templates are preconfigured for using ad hoc tasks when you are working with the global process monitoring model (deprecated). - Better Lender showcase model
The Better Lender showcase model is a sample model installed with IBM Business Monitor that provides an interactive demonstration of using the monitoring widgets. - Globalization considerations
The IBM Business Monitor widgets have been globalized to display information in a format that is common for the location and locale that has been selected for the computer or operating system. - Customizing dashboard spaces
You can customize the behavior and the appearance of your spaces in various ways, from small changes like modifying default link text to large-scale changes like customizing the entire theme.
