Dashboard accessibility

The IBM® Business Monitor widgets and dashboard spaces are accessible to users either directly, or in combination with assistive technology products. In general, you can use standard Microsoft Windows navigation keys.

The graphical user interface (GUI) does not provide information about user interface objects. The equivalent GUI functions are available when you use the command line interface.

For IBM Business Monitor 7.0.0.3 and later, JAWS 11 is the supported screen reader and Firefox 3.5 is the supported browser for dashboard accessibility.

For a list of standard keyboard shortcuts in Microsoft Windows, see the Keyboard Assistance information from Microsoft at http://www.microsoft.com/enable/products/keyboard.aspx.

Zooming

When you use the zoom function to enlarge a window and the text within it, the window might become too large and cause the scroll bar to become unusable. To avoid this problem, change the browser setting to View > Zoom > Zoom Text Only before you zoom in on the window.

Using JAWS

When you use the JAWS screen reader with certain widgets, some special configuration is necessary regarding general interaction, column widths, and property windows.
