Configuring log levels

IBM® FileNet® Collaboration Services uses the standard Java logging API, which can be configured at runtime through WebSphere® Application Server administrative console.

About this task

To configure log levels:

Procedure

  1. Log in to the WebSphere Application Server administrative console and expand the troubleshooting item on the left panel.
  2. Click Logs and trace, then the name of your server in the server list (for example, server1). Configuration options are listed in the main panel.
  3. Go to the logging configuration panel and click Change log detail levels.
  4. Select the appropriate tab: Configuration or Runtime. By default, the Configuration tab is active. Any changes you make will be saved to the WebSphere Application Server configuration files, but not activated until you restart the server.
Tip: It is recommended that you make all changes in the Runtime tab. Log level changes are activated immediately.
If the Runtime tab is active and you want to make your changes permanent, check the Save runtime changes to configuration as well box.
  5. Make your changes, using either the freeform text entry or package tree, and click Apply.
