Security accounts required by IBM Content
Navigator
Before you install and configure IBM® Content
Navigator, you must identify or
create several security accounts to successfully install and configure
the application in your environment.
Installer and configuration account
To install IBM Content
Navigator and
to run the IBM Content
Navigator Configuration
and Deployment Tool you must log on to the server where you plan to
install IBM Content
Navigator with
an operating system account that has administrator permissions or
read, write, and execute permissions.
IBM Content Navigator administrator account
To access the IBM Content
Navigator administration
tool, you must log on to the web client as an application server administrative
user.
Database accounts
To enable IBM Content
Navigator to
connect to the database where you plan to store the IBM Content
Navigator configuration data,
you must have the credentials for a general database user and a database
administrator.
IBM FileNet P8 administrator accounts IBM FileNet P8 workflow
users only: To configure Process Engine for IBM Content
Navigator, you must provide the
credentials of an IBM FileNet P8 administrator
when you run the IBM Content
Navigator Configuration
and Deployment Tool.
Application server administrator account
To connect to and deploy IBM Content
Navigator on your web application
server, you must connect to your application server as an application
server administrator.
Administrative console user account (FileNet P8) IBM FileNet P8 and WebSphere® Application
Server users only: To configure
the connection to your LDAP server on WebSphere Application
Server, you must provide the credentials
of an LDAP account that is a WebSphere Application
Server administrator.
Directory service bind user account (FileNet P8) IBM FileNet P8 users
only: To configure the connection to your LDAP server, you must provide
the credentials of an LDAP account that the IBM Content
Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool
can use to connect to the configured directory server.
