To install IBM® Content
Navigator and
to run the IBM Content
Navigator Configuration
and Deployment Tool you must log on to the server where you plan to
install IBM Content
Navigator with
an operating system account that has administrator permissions or
read, write, and execute permissions.
Important: If you installed your web application server
as a user other than the root user, you must use the same user account
when you install IBM Content

or Linux for System z®. If you do not, the IBM Content
Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool
does not work properly.

criteria:

the installer and configuration account should be an operating system
account with local administrator permissions on the server where you
plan to install IBM Content
Navigator.
- If you are installing on AIX, Linux, or Linux for System
z, the installer and configuration account should be an operating
system account with the following permissions:
- Read, write, and execute permissions to the device or location
where you plan to install IBM Content
Navigator.
- Read, write, and execute permissions to the application server
domain or profile where you plan to install IBM Content
Navigator.
- Write permissions for the /tmp directory.
