DSNA messages

Message identifiers that begin with DSNA communicate information about the call attachment facility (CAF).

DSNA messages fall into two categories:

  • Messages that are written to a trace file. These are seen only if the trace is turned on (that is, ddname DSNTRACE was allocated to SYSOUT or the TSO terminal).
  • Messages that are returned by a DB2® stored procedure. These are seen only as a parameter that is returned by the stored procedure.

DSNA messages use common elements and share the same basic structure:

  • Message number (DSNAnnna).
  • The name of the CSECT responsible for writing the message.
  • TCB address of the task currently executing.
  • A series of tokens and token-explanations unique to each message.

The intent of these messages is to aid IBM® development and the IBM Support Center. They contain information that might not be meaningful except to IBM.

Messages in the DSNA8 range are intended for diagnosis and are documented in Diagnosis Guide and Reference.
