Using the physical MDM developer samples

InfoSphere® MDM includes a number of developer samples that you can use to help you develop your own physical MDM solutions and InfoSphere MDM customizations.

Note: For a select list of available developer samples, see Samples for virtual or physical MDM.

Some of the InfoSphere MDM developer sample assets can be downloaded from the Samples and Assets site for InfoSphere MDM.

The package file that you download from the site is IBMInfoSphereMasterDataManagement_IWMSamples_<version>.zip.

After you extract the content of the IBMInfoSphereMasterDataManagement_IWMSamples_<version>.zip file, the source code for the CustomerSamples Java™ project is located in the \mdmsamples folder. The InfoSphere MDM product source code samples can be found in the MDM_INSTALL_HOME\Samples folder after it is installed.

After downloading the samples, you can import the sample projects into the InfoSphere MDM Workbench.

Deploying samples
Once you have downloaded the samples, you must deploy them before you can use them in a runtime environment.
Adaptive Service Interface: Service mapping sample
The Adaptive Service Interface feature helps improve how InfoSphere MDM SOA services are consumed.
Adaptive Services Interface: Consuming delimited data
This sample demonstrates the ability of the InfoSphere MDM physical hub to consume delimited text (DFDL) requests through the Adaptive Services Interface (ASI).
Adaptive Services Interface: ASI support for specs
The ASI Spec Mapping sample demonstrates the ability of InfoSphere MDM to support dynamic attributes (specs) through the Adaptive Services Interface (ASI) feature.
Batch Activity Dashboard sample application
The Batch Activity Dashboard application is a Web-based user interface for the InfoSphere MDM batch processor that runs within IBM® Business Process Manager (BPM).

This sample provides a pattern for extending the product to facilitate faster searches for search criteria that spans multiple database tables.
Dun & Bradstreet data enrichment integration sample
InfoSphere MDM includes sample code to demonstrate how InfoSphere MDM data can be enriched with business intelligence from the Dun & Bradstreet global database.
External rules
External rules enable you to implement business rules outside of InfoSphere MDM so that you can plug in your own customized version of a rule. InfoSphere MDM includes sample code for a number of external rules.
Maximizing InfoSphere MDM availability and fault tolerance
This developer sample is intended to show how you can dynamically keep current the list of Cluster Members available to your client when accessing the InfoSphere MDM EJB for the first time.
Working with Party maintenance services
Party maintenance services are provided to meet the needs of clients that are implementing InfoSphere MDM solutions in the Registry or Coexistence architectural styles.
Product maintenance services
The Product maintenance services build upon the Party maintenance services to extend support to the Product domain.
Questionnaire extension
Reminder Addition
The Reminder addition sample provides new functionality and information to InfoSphere MDM by adding a new transaction to add, update a reminder, which can contain one to many notes. InfoSphere MDM will maintain the new information.
Third party adapters
The samples distribution file contains the source code for the classes used to integrate IBM InfoSphere Master Data Management with external products such as IBM InfoSphere Information Server QualityStage® or IBM InfoSphere Identity Insight.
Web Service Tailoring sample
You can use the Workbench to create tailored Web services that support only a required subset of the transactions and data objects provided by the server. You can use this facility to create simpler Web service definitions that can be more easily used for integration with other applications.
Overview of the sample for enabling defaulted source values for an existing business object
A sample project has been created to illustrate the use of Default Source Values.
InfoSphere MDM Physical to Virtual MDM Publisher Sample
The InfoSphere MDM Physical to Virtual MDM Publisher Sample enables you to publish the Party data in your source InfoSphere MDM Advanced Edition physical style MDM instance to your target InfoSphere MDM Standard Edition virtual style MDM instance. You can synchronize data from multiple source instances to a single target instance.
