Software requirements
Before you install Operational Decision Manager Standard and Advanced components, make sure that you have the required software and environments, and sufficient disk space.
The following table displays the software requirements that are supplied as part of disk 1.

Installation Manager 1.8 or later |
Installation Manager is required to install the Operational Decision Manager product packages. You can install Installation Manager in silent mode by running the executable file we provide. If you already have a version of Installation Manager, ensure that you have the minimum version requirement: Installation Manager 1.8, see Installation Manager downloads. If you use Unix you can use the console-based interface of Installation Manager. Read more about the console mode in the Installation Manager documentation. |
WebSphere® Application Server Network Deployment 8.5.5 |
If you intend to deploy a sample server or a stand-alone server, you must install WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment V8.5.5. You use WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment to run the samples and tutorials, to install the Event runtime, and to use the Event widgets. Note: To install WebSphere Application

systems, you must set the process resource limits in the
/etc/security/limits.conf file. If the value for the number of open files is
too low, errors can occur when opening files or establishing connections. To change the open file
limit, edit the /etc/security/limits.conf file, and add the following values:

WebSphere SDK Java Technology Edition Version 7 is required to use the Sample Server. With the WebSphere SDK Java Technology Edition you can: develop, test and deploy Java applications at the Java 7 API level. |
WebSphere eXtreme Scale 8.6.0 |
WebSphere eXtreme Scale is required only if you intend to install the Event runtime. WebSphere eXtreme Scale is used to install the Event runtime. You must install WebSphere eXtreme Scale in the directory of WebSphere Application Server. |
