Finding your way as a first-time user

To test that your installation completed successfully, start the designers and the development server. Then, to run the samples and tutorials you must open the samples console and sample server.

Starting the designers
You can open Rule Designer, Event Designer or Insight Designer from the start menu shortcut, or by starting the Eclipse that contains them.
Opening the designers in a specific locale
You can start Rule Designer, Insight Designer, or Event Designer in a locale other than the locale of your operating system. If you are using a bidirectional locale, you can also change the display orientation of Eclipse.
Opening the samples console
You can open the samples console from the start menu shortcuts or from the Samples Console perspective.
Starting the sample server
Before you develop, test, and run the samples and tutorials, you must start the Sample Server. You can start the sample server from the Start menu.
Starting the Decision Server Insights development server
When the product installer is finished, start the cisDev server to test that your Decision Server Insights installation completed successfully.
