Verifying a multiple-network environment

Verify that your multiple-network environment functions properly.

Before you begin

Perform the steps in both Verifying a VTAM network and Verifying a multiple-domain subarea network (in that order) for each of your networks.

To verify that your multiple-network environment functions properly, do the following steps:

Activate each gateway VTAM and gateway NCP.
Activate major nodes required for cross-network sessions.
Establish required cross-network SSCP-SSCP sessions.
Verify cross-network sessions by exchanging requests across networks, between terminals and hosts, and between application programs.
Verify termination processing when an SSCP-SSCP or SSCP-gateway NCP session is deactivated.
Try backup and recovery procedures.
Verify the NetView® program, if it is installed.
Halt VTAM in each domain in each network.
