Switched SDLC connection

z/OS Communications Server: SNA Network Implementation Guide
SC27-3672-01

A switched connection between NCP and a peripheral node can be any of the following connections:
  • An SDLC switched line
  • A switched virtual circuit (SVC) of an X.25 packet-switched data network
  • A local area network (peripheral nodes only)

Define these connections within switched line groups in the NCP major node, and code either a switched major node or the dynamic switched definition facility to define switched resources to VTAM®.

Virtual physical units and logical units with dial-in capability (such as NTO-controlled devices) can be dynamically defined using the configuration services XID exit routine. You can also use PU and LU definition statements in the switched or model major node. Virtual physical and logical units can be coded only for switched lines defined in an NCP major node.
