There are three pacing stages for application program-to-local SNA device session over an AHHC connection. Stage x and stage y use adaptive pacing and stage z uses either adaptive or fixed pacing. Figure 1 shows the pacing stages for this example. See Table 1 and Table 2 for examples of the values used by VTAM® to set the pacing window values.

Table 1 shows sample definition statement coding and corresponding windows when data flows from the PLU to the SLU.
