Delay of automatic activation

z/OS Communications Server: SNA Network Implementation Guide
SC27-3672-01

If VTAM® must delay the activation of all the link stations specified for automatic activation, and if there are no other active connections to the NCP, the NCP activation itself is delayed to await the availability of an active connection. You should activate the adjacent NCPs containing the link stations to allow the original NCP activation to complete. Similarly, if none of the routes to the NCP are physically available, VTAM displays a message to you and delays the activation of the NCP until at least one route becomes available. However, if a request is entered to activate an NCP to which no route has been defined, the activation fails.

Any suspended activation of an NCP or link station can be terminated by deactivating that NCP or link station.
