Defining type 2.1 peripheral nodes

z/OS Communications Server: SNA Network Implementation Guide
SC27-3672-01

You should consider the following when defining type 2.1 peripheral nodes.
PUDRPOOL definition statement
NCP must generate a pool of network addresses to establish switched connections to type 2.1 peripheral nodes. If you might add PUs using dynamic reconfiguration, you need to know the maximum number of concurrent type 2.1 peripheral node connections so that you can reserve the appropriate number of control blocks for PU addresses.
Note: The dynamic switched definition facility does not use addresses from the PUDRPOOL.
XMITDLY operand
You can specify XMITDLY on the LINE definition statement. This causes the NCP to delay the XID process for the specified period of time to avoid XID contention between the NCP and the type 2.1 peripheral node.
