Although there is no resource hierarchy among major nodes, there are some considerations for NCP activation.

There must be at least one defined route to the NCP; this requires that an appropriate path definition set be activated before the NCP is activated. NCP activation remains pending until a route to the NCP becomes physically available.

If the member name of the NCP source program differs from the name that you want to be associated with the NCP after activation, use the LOADMOD operand on the VARY ACT command to identify the member name in both VTAMLST and in the specified LOADLIB. The member name must be the same as the load module name.
