PATH Operand

z/OS TSO/E User's Guide

Identify the file by specifying a file name up to 250 characters. Enclose the name in single quotation marks if the name includes characters other than A-Z (upper case), 0-9, or the symbols $, #, @, /, *, +, -, ., &.

Syntax 
ALLOCATE PATH('pathname')
