How to specify different types of requests

This topic explains the purpose of the available types of requests and describes how to specify each request type. A request type is determined by the specified value of the <filename> parameter.

There is one subtopic for each available request type, presenting an example request and listing the required and optional parameters. The resulting XML documents are documented in How to interpret an XML document returned by the DDS.

Table 1 lists all filename specifications which are valid in a request string to a z/OS system and also indicates which filenames can be specified for AIX®, Linux or Windows.
