You can create an instance in Streams Studio.
If
you want to use advanced configuration options, create the instance
by using the Streams
Console or
the streamtool mkinstance command.
Procedure
To create an instance:
- In the Streams Explorer view, right-click the Streams
Instances folder and click Make Instance.
- In the Make New Streams Instance window,
choose the domain and enter the new instance name in the Instance
name field.
- Allocate resources to the instance:
- To specify the number of resources available to this instance, without identifying the
individual resources, in the Resource options area, click Number
of Resources and enter the number of resources to assign to the instance.
- To identify specific host resources to assign to the instance, click Select
hosts and select from the list of resources in the domain.
- To set properties for the instance.
- You can set instance configuration properties by adding the Name and Value to
the Properties area.
- To set application environment variables.
- You can set instance application environment variables by
adding the Name and Value to
the Application Environment Variables area.
Results
If the instance is created successfully, the instance is displayed
in the
Streams Instances folder in the
Streams
Explorer view. You can view messages and errors from the
make instance command in the Console view.
