Enabling data rules for exception management

You can enable data rules for exception management from within IBM® InfoSphere® Information Governance Dashboard.

Before you begin

For the Enable button to be visible on the Data Rules Details page, you must configure the SMC_URL parameter in the metadata repository.

About this task

In InfoSphere Information Governance Dashboard, you can use the Data Quality workspace to access data rules that you want to enable for exception management. After you enable a data rule for exception management, you can review, monitor, and potentially resolve exceptions by using the Data Quality Exception Console, the IBM Stewardship Center, or the exception management reports of InfoSphere Information Governance Dashboard.

Procedure

  1. In InfoSphere Information Governance Dashboard, open the Data Quality workspace.
  2. Click the name of a data rule that you want to enable for exception management. The details report for the selected data rule is displayed.
  3. In the details report, click Enable to enable the data rule for exception management. If you did not previously authenticate with an IBM InfoSphere Information Server application on the system you are working on, an authentication dialog box is displayed. After you authenticate, the Enable button is activated and you can use it. The button shows Enabled if the data rule is already enabled.
