Setting up the tutorial environment

Before you start this tutorial, you must prepare your system to run the tutorial.

Before you begin

Ensure that the IBM® InfoSphere® QualityStage® server component and the IBM InfoSphere DataStage® and QualityStage Administrator client component is installed and configured appropriately.
Ensure that user credentials are mapped to the engine tier operating system user credentials and that your user account has the following sets of security roles:
- The Suite Administrator and DataStage and QualityStage Administrator roles are required to create a project. If you do not have these roles, a user with these roles must create a project for the tutorial and assign you the DataStage and QualityStage Developer or DataStage and QualityStage Production Manager role for the project.
- The Suite User and DataStage and QualityStage Administrator or DataStage and QualityStage User roles are required to log in to the Standardization Rules Designer.
If you cannot log in to the Standardization Rules Designer, consult your system administrator.

About this task

The IBM InfoSphere QualityStage Standardization Rules Designer is a web-based application that interacts with the client, engine, and metadata repository tiers. Before you begin the tutorial, you must ensure that the sample data and tutorial rule set are available to the Standardization Rules Designer. You must also have a project that you can use for the tutorial.
