Rolling back an upgrade in Windows

You can roll back to an earlier fix pack of B2B Advanced Communications in Windows with the Roll Back tool in the IBM® Installation Manager or the Installation Manager commands.

Before you begin

If you installed additional nodes to your cluster after an upgrade and you are rolling back to a previous fix pack or interim fix, you must first disable those nodes. To disable the nodes, deactivate each of the members on the node with the member deactivate command. Deactivating the catalog member requires further instruction. To deactivate a catalog member, see Uninstalling a catalog member.

About this task

You can roll back to an earlier fix pack in B2B Advanced Communications with the IBM Installation Manager or Installation Manager commands.

Tip: You can also use the imcl rollback packageID<version> command on each node in your installation to roll back to an earlier fix pack.

For information about using the imcl command, see Command-line arguments for the imcl command in the IBM Installation Manager Knowledge Center.

Restriction: The earliest version of B2B Advanced Communications that you can roll back to is version 1.0.0.2.
Restriction: If you roll back from version 1.0.0.3 to version 1.0.0.2, SQL warnings are displayed in the installation log. These warnings can be safely ignored.

What to do next

Restriction: If you rolled back multiple upgrades to version 1.0.0.2 you must also manually execute the 1.0.103 SQL script to roll back the database schema. Navigate to the 1.0.0.4 installation media and execute the <B2BAC installation media>\resources\database\<database type>\sql\MEGUI\DDL\rollback\UICore_DDL_<database_type>-1.0.103.sql file. Ensure that locate the 1.0.103 SQL script in the 1.0.0.4 installation media. After you roll back to 1.0.0.2, 1.0.0.4 directories and files are no longer available.
