Manual properties file changes after an upgrade

An upgrade requires manual changes to the message fabric endpoint and system properties files after the IBM® Installation Manager upgrade wizard runs. This process enables you to maintain custom changes to those files.

When you upgrade, the log messages that are displayed after you finish running the Installation Manager indicate that you need to manually change two of the properties files that supply configuration information to the data grid (message fabric endpoint and system).

Tip: To see all of the information for a log message in a list of messages, you must select the log message or hover your cursor over the log message.

For example, the following message is displayed for the message fabric endpoint properties file after an upgrade to an installation in the C:\B2B Advanced Communications installation directory:

Configuration contained in the data grid has changes to be installed. These changes need merged with current contents in the grid which may or may not contain customer modifications. Use the 'execute config export fabric_endpoint C:\B2B Advanced Communications\Members\resources\SystemConfigurationMFEndPointLoader.properties' command from <install_dir>/Members/bin to get current configuration. The file containing changes to be applied is: C:\B2B Advanced Communications\Members\resources\SystemConfigurationMFEndPointLoader.properties.toApply.1.0.0.20140530_2029. After merging content into the file exported, use the 'execute config load fabric_endpoint' command from <installDir>/Members/bin to apply the changes to the grid. If the grid does not contain the configuration yet because it was never started then rename the C:\B2B Advanced Communications\Members\resources\SystemConfigurationMFEndPointLoader.properties.toApply.1.0.0.20140530_2029 to C:\B2B Advanced Communications\Members\resources\SystemConfigurationMFEndPointLoader.properties then start the members which will apply the changes automatically.

If you receive this type of message, perform the procedure for your type of upgrade:
