You must set up and maintain a database to store all of the InfoSphere® MDM Collaboration Server data. You can use an Oracle database or a DB2® database, which you generally set up on a separate server.
The performance and reliability of InfoSphere MDM Collaboration Server is highly dependent on a well-managed database. All the data that you enter in the system is stored in the underlying database, therefore it is critical to ensure optimal database performance and availability. You can optimize the database server by configuring the database lock wait, buffer pool, and memory parameters to meet the system performance requirements.
