Database server performance checklist

Use the database server performance checklist to resolve common issues with your database.

The following list identifies possible resolutions that can help you to identify the source of your performance database issues:
  • Make sure that the server where the database is installed has the appropriate capacity to handle the load and is not shared with other systems.
  • Check and make sure that the database statistics are up to date.
  • Check memory allocation to make sure that there are no unnecessary disk reads.
  • Check to see whether the database needs to be defragmented.
