These operations are available to administrators through the Management Console, which is a text based user interface for the Configuration and Management components in InfoSphere MDM. While the Management Console provides the means of interacting with the user, the actual functionality is provided by the management agent. The management agent runs as a daemon process and accepts connections and commands from any number of Management Consoles.
The database supporting the configuration repository must be available to support the persistent storage of the application's configuration.
The application itself does not need to be operational when the configuration is changed, but it must be deployed in its operational environment.
