Preparing for upgrade or migration

You must complete certain steps to prepare for upgrading or migrating from WSRR V6.3 ,V7.0, V7.5, V8.0, or V8.5.0 to V8.5.5.

About this task

Before you begin the upgrade process, you must complete the following steps:

Procedure

  1. Install the latest WSRR fix pack, appropriate for your WSRR version, to the source WSRR.
  2. Ensure that the destination WSRR is installed correctly and at the latest V8.5.5 fix pack level.
  3. Ensure that the destination WSRR V8.5.5 is a fresh installation containing no entity data, and with no configuration customization.
  4. Ensure that no-one will alter any entity data in the source WSRR system, or access the destination WSRR system, until upgrade is complete. Upgrade to a "live" system is not supported. Upgrade leaves WSRR in read-only mode, and you must remove read-only mode after the upgrade has completed successfully. See Using the manage content tool to manage the read-only state.
  5. Ensure you are not using any reserved property names.

Changes have been made to the WSRR object model in later WSRR versions. Any user-defined properties that clash with these new modeled properties must be changed before migration.

No new properties were introduced in WSRR V8.5.0 or V8.5.5.

For details of new properties introduced in WSRR V8.0, see Model changes to consider when upgrading from WSRR V6.3, V7.0, or V7.5.

For details of new properties introduced in WSRR V7.5, see Service level definition has available operations relationship.

For details of new properties introduced in WSRR V7.0, see Action property added to WSDLInput and WSDLOutput SDOs.

No new properties were introduced in WSRR V6.3.
